DUB jam vid

DUBJAM Boneyard from Dub BMX on Vimeo.

More of the same

Not much has been happening of late, mainly due to the shit weather. Gez repped at the DUB jam and won a frame!!! i can only assume no one else turned up! haha, not really, from what i hear it was a well good day! get the edit on the DUB site. Me and Gez took a trip up to Morecambe on Wednesday to see Specky Joe and make a new one day edit, but the weather shit on us so we never got enough clips for an edit, after a brew round Joe's we headed back to leeds via blackpool skatepark, i pretty much dislike any indoor park but if its all there is too ride i'll go, turned out to be a pretty good session and we met a couple of sound locals who stalked us to tesco's where i was shopping for a bucket....which is a christmas present. Hopefully we will be able to make a new one day edit soon, in the mean time we will be drinking lager and watchin Dry Spell, which by the way is a really good video!! GDC Pete is still in the states and put together a well funny edit of one of the strangest things i've ever seen anyone take seriously! Go see that on the GDC blog. With a bit of luck the new year will see us get our act together and do some shirt designs and a few new video projects.

Id rather be in Yorkshire

Had a bit of snow round these parts in the last couple of days, which means not much ridin has gone down, I was out yesterday with Donnacha and we hit up the brick banks under the bridge for a couple of hours, it was a fun session and good to be ridin again after a weekend of entertaining my Mother and Dee who came to visit from Edinburgh which was good times. Hopefully this snow will piss off so we can have some proper street sessions, snow belongs on mountains....just like mountain bikes!! Gez is down in Hastings with Dub Jack and Ditchburn this week not sure what they are doing but i guess we will see. GDC Pete is in america putting off digging a ditch cos he doesn't want to piss off and sleepy snakes. Check this sweet FBM edit.

Ralph Sinisi

had this on VHS a long time ago, some how it got lost in transit.Stoked its out there on the internet. Its a inspiration to ride in the shitty weather and under horrible conditions.
Me,tom and theo had a good litt le session in the freezing weather. The tall man pegging some monster high ledges.Followed by the pub and a shit house party. Also a near fight from these fellows that tryed mocking the tall man for being into bmx and hardcore.Turns out there a pop-punk/hardcore band(is that even possible). That supposedly support bmx events.Any little rich boy can set up a myspace band account with an auto friend adder and some fancy graphics, doesnt mean your good.Do one.

she's a slag

Just seen this on the GDC blog, this song is mint, and is on the Attila video hit the switch, which you should all have seen. Punk as fuck

what do you call a man with no shins?......Tony

The sections from the new nike video are dotted around on various sites, dunno which ones but if you go on the nike site you'll find your way. There is something on vital or some site like that called the big big bmx show, its utter rubbish so i wouldn't bother watching it. Its a bit wet here in leeds today and word is you can ride the works for £4 today, think i'll wait for it to dry though..... Gez and me went to Bradford on wednesday, the weather held and we had a reet good day, couple of pics are up on the myspace if you would like to see them.

The one day edit take 3 got slated lots on the comeup from what i hear, im pretty glad they didn't like it.

Manchester

Gez, Theo and Me took a trip to manchester yesterday, Leeds was piss wet through and Manc was dry. We met up with Scot and Jack at the DUB house then went streetin. First stop though was a little wooden park, outdoors and next to a mint looking bmx race track, all flood lit but you had to have brakes and no pegs to ride it.

Flogging Molly were playing at the academy which is right next to this rail, tickets were £17!! bit much that. Gez got chatted up by a guy from a band who play at the T1 ramps quite often and he put Gez +3 on the guest list for the show that night, but we didn't go.

This spot was on the top floor of a multi story car park, Gez fired the ledge no probs, Scot and Me battled with a flat ledge down one of the ramps to get it ridable and after a few slams i threw the smith along it and Ditchburn got the feebs to bars off.

Gez just avoided a £30 fine from the rozzers after he saw we were riding some benches, as always he was on a bit of a power trip but lost interest when Gez said he lived in Leeds and there would probably be paper work to do. So he told Gez to knob off. Manchester is well good for riding so we will be back.

Rain was trying to stop play today, but Gez, Street Dave and Me had other ideas and hit up a dry spot at the uni, Dave got to grips with his new set up after some pikey robbed his old bike! I battled with a ledge till i got a blow out and Gez did lots of good stunts all over the place. Back to Gez's to watch the Retribution 2.5 vid, which is mint! and 4 tins of Tetley's for £2.89! back of the net!!

War on Wolves and a little on Birmingham

Saturday morning, about 11am and we were up supping brews before a drive to Wolves for the last P5 street jam of the year on the Sunday. Bikes dismantled, car packed and a high five to Elvis (who was heading to Bristol with the real Old Tess) and we were off.

We pulled up outside Fish's house and took our stuff inside and had some more brews. I have never been to Wolverhampton before and my first impressions were that its a bit of a shit hole. The afternoon street session was ruined my my wheel bearings collapsing and the weather going to shit. Luckily Fish's shop hooked me up with the 3 out of 4 bearings i needed, shout out to Tom at Leisurelakes bikes in Wolves.

Back to the house we went, few beers down us this time and a wait for the others to arrive. Eventually there was about 15 people piling up bikes in the kitchen, then off to the venue for the Brighton Ain't Ready premier in town, The Mute- mobile making shuttle runs so we didn't have to walk, nice!

Before the video we managed to watch the final fight of a kickboxing evening, everyone in there had paid 20 sheets to go a watch this but we just walked through another door and paid nowt. Judging by the crowd the local boy won with a carfty knock out.

Brighton Ain't Ready was really good, Niki Croft is a total beast, you should buy this dvd!! After the video Tom Mann and Theo squared up in the boxing ring and some groping and slapping took place.

The rest of the evening was at the pub for everyone and a club for some, Tom Mann pushed Lloyd and Jason into the canal, Jason lost his wallet, keys and phone in there. Theo on the other hand wormed his way into a bird, and being the romantic he is boned her on a market stall and a bin shed! Back at the house the good times went on. Jason poured hot wax onto Tom Mann's face when he tried to sleep, Tom Mann through some barspins in the dark and no one dared to sleep.

Theo the Ladies man

When everyone woke on Sunday it was pretty wet, not a good start, phones calls meant we went to Birmingham to epic park (which was a dreadful looking place) but luckily the weather picked up and we hit a spot down the road, the jam was on! After the first spot was session and H-Man got told off by a security guard for trying to throw stones through a window a quick dash back to Wolves was made to get the jam going proper. The Jam was really good, not one spot got shut down everyone had a laugh and there was some amazing riding from Lloyd, Bombhead, Chicken, Gez and others. Fish got very drunk and was passed out for the majority of the time. Prizes were given out, Gez and Lloyd had a paper, scissors, stone battle for a new frame!! Lloyd won. Even i won some pegs!! A massive shout out to Mute for pulling off a sweet jam after a ropey start, check Ride UK for a write up and photos. Web edit is on its way.

Nip down t'chipoil

Robbed this off Cleggy's blog, you think times are hard now...

Big Fred

Fred Dibnah is probably one of the only men who could wear a flat cap, those stupid indy kids need to buck their ideas up. Never mind all these extreme sports people, Fred knows where its at, you dont need ropes and energy drinks. Health and Safety would probably have a thing or two to say about this these days...the bastards.

DUB BMX and LS6

Last weekend was the LS6 Nightcrawlers Jam here in Leeds, there was a pretty good turn out and fathead kept everyone amused on the megaphone. Most of the spots we went to got shut down by the rozzers or those community support tools. The will be a web edit going up soon i believe, it'll be on LS6BMX.co.uk first, I imagine it will appear on here soon after.

The weekend before that was the DUB bmx jam in Liverpool, I was pretty excited about this as i have never been there before. My highly desirable job working the nightshift in the co-op meant i was getting no sleep before the jam but that didn't matter. The train was full of football fans, Liverpool were playing Stoke (it finished 0-0) and Gez got groped by the filth on his way out of the station. We met Mute and Tom Mann in the street and headed to the meet up spot. This was one of the best jams i have been to, the vibe was really good and so was the turn out, plenty of heckling and boozing, girls kissing girls for fags what more could you ask for?....also there were some good stunts. Theo got punched on the train home and dished out on of his own, then we crashed into each other in the station and he split his chin which meant a trip to hospital...good times. War on Wolves this weekend....
